My family’s story is woven into the thrilling tapestry of racing and the clean scent of success in the dry-cleaning business. Childhood for me meant growing up amid the roaring engines and tire smoke of the racetrack. New Smyrna Speedway was our playground, where our family unleashed the power of late models. If I wasn’t hustling for spare parts, I was daydreaming about gripping the wheel myself. But racing wasn’t the only chapter in our family saga. My grandfather, a bold pioneer, left the chilly embrace of Minnesota for the warmth of Florida, determined to establish a dry-cleaning legacy. In the 1950s, he set up shop in Orlando, and now, three generations later, we stand as a testament to his vision and hard work.
My own chance to feel the rush of the race came later in life when the opportunity to join the Champ Car Series knocked on my door in early 2018. As I impatiently bided my time, eagerly awaiting the moment I could hit the asphalt, I couldn’t help but notice the state of everyone’s racing suits – stained and gritty, telling tales of the fierce battles on the track. Now, anyone who knows me understands I’m the kind of person who sees a need and is compelled to fill it.
In a matter of months, Race Suit Valet was born, a venture that seamlessly merged my passion for racing with the honor of carrying on my grandfather’s legacy. It’s not just about cleaning suits; it’s about preserving the spirit of racing and paying homage to the roots that run deep in our family.
